PP'S MANAGER KATHERINE
HILLER PART OF THE LAS VEGAS MAFIA?
ZURICH/LAS VEGAS --- For almost
two years, author and philosopher Patricia Paradise travels
the world to research her newest book. Reportedly, it deals
with the difference of a western materialistic world with
the prime example Las Vegas and the poor third world. Various
unconfirmed sources are rumoring that examining the wealth
of Las Vegas means as well examining the local mob. And exactly
there's the source of the latest controversy about Ms. Paradise.
The high explosive factor is, that there is said that Ms.
Paradise personal manager for 19 years, Ms. Katherine Hiller,
is having a strong bound to exactly this group of people.
Although never any facts could have been confirmed, Ms. Hiller
got many severe accusations who constantly keep surfacing.

VARIOUS CONTRADICTING
RUMORS ABOUT PATRICIA PARADISE
ACTUAL ACTIVITIES AND WHEREABOUTS.
ZURICH/LAS VEGAS --- Since
Ms. Paradise surprising retirement from show business in 1992,
the relationship with her exclusive manager and discoverer,
Katherine Hiller, has got a serious rift. Ms. Paradise successful
singing career ended not only her pain in working within this
materialistic system, but as well the hefty income Ms. Hiller's.
Since then, her management is limited to Ms. Paradise' background
activities. Ms. Paradise advises personalities in politic
and ghost writes songs. Ms. Hiller's most visible achievement
was to make the deal in bringing her clients life to the silver
screen with the biopic Paradise. Ms. Hiller lately has become
very secretive about her client's activities. The scheduled
presentation of Ms. Paradise newest book at the last years
Frankfurter Buchmesse has been canceled on a short notice
and since then, is indefinitely postponed. The official reasons
were very vaguely. And there are sources saying that Ms. Hiller
aims to definitely stop her client to finish this high explosive
book. Lately, there hasn't been any direct word by Ms. Paradise
herself. Click back to get more news as Marco De Luca keeps

DISCLOSED: KATHERINE
HILLER'S GAME.
ZURICH/LAS VEGAS --- Lately,
Ms. Hiller's statements are of a quite unbelievable politeness.
But her disclosed information remains very scarce! My research
based on studying Ms. Paradise life, talking to people within
her entourage who naturally must be staying anonymous as well
referring to several fans who are quite experts in the myth
of Patricia Paradise opening quite contradicting points between
official statements and reality. Ms. Paradise might very well
be in danger, having become to close to Ms. Hiller and her
dark secret of working for the Las Vegas-mob. Ms. Paradise
haven't been seen but is said that she is still in Italy,
more precisely in Sicily. But all my efforts to contact her
haven't been successful yet. And Ms. Hiller doesn't offer
any support of her clients whereabouts, of obvious reasons.

WHAT KATHERINE HILLER
TRULY THINKS OF PARADISE
ZURICH/LAS VEGAS --- As we
are aware of, Ms. Hiller pulled out an astonishing US$ 750'000.00
from the film production company Sunset International Ltd.
for the
rights to film Patricia Paradise' life. Now, we all know that
she merly made it for money, and not to service a genuine
portray of her client. The screenwriter Roger Steinmann was
confronted with Ms. Hiller how she herself should be portrayed.
First her character had to be softened and sweetened, then
the casting with actress Caroline Ambrose was her too menace.
Ms. Hiller threatened with legal steps, so the filmmakers
gave in. Reportedly, Ms. Paradise gave the go ahead to film
her
life to get a genuinely true biopic. Subequently, this concept
was sabotaged by her manager (and so called 'best friend').
Certainly to be continued...

NEW SIGNALS BY PATRICIA
PARADISE
ZURICH --- While we are still
waiting for the documents by the eyewitness Mr. Roberts to
arrive, there are all of a sudden strong signals to learn
that Patricia Paradise new book will be presented soon. Ms.
Paradise was working, apparently on and off, for years at
her still untitled book which provoked a scandal within the
Las Vegas mob (see former Investigations). One just may wonder
about the actual content of this high-explosive document.
Might it be that Ms. Paradise's manager, Ms. Katherine Hiller,
has censored the book and therefore green-lighted its soon
expected publication?

PATRICIA PARADISE'
NEW BOOK "TWO WORLDS" ANNOUNCED
ZURICH --- The world looks
in awe to the publishing of Ms. Paradise' new book "Two
Worlds in One: Reflections between the First and the Third
World". Her latest work has been postponed so many times
that we might be happy upon its final presentation.
But - knowing Ms. Paradise environment, especially her manager
Ms. Hiller - I've got some serious doubts. Will it genuinely
be Patricia Paradise' work? Or has it been brutally censored?
We all heard the constant rumors about it's hot subjects,
citing the Mafia, especially the one from Las Vegas, and the
critic about the over-the-top economy. Rumors say that Ms.
Paradise aims to take revenge at the mob from Vegas who made
hers and her husbands life's quite awful. And since Ms. Hiller
is being said to have a strong bound to the Mafia, it's even
more astonishing that we get to see now the book. Or shall
I say 'a book'?
Well, its publishing is officially set on October 23, in Vegas'
MGM Grand. I'm anxious to see what's coming next...

PATRICIA PARADISE'
HUSBAND FRANCIS HILLER DEAD
LAS VEGAS/ZURICH --- Francis
Hiller, since 1988 married to Patricia Paradise, has died
yesterday. Reportedly, Mr. Hiller passed away Saturday night,
around 9 PM (PST), at his Las Vegas-home at the age of 44.
This news were reported by numerous sources. As of now, there
weren't any further details revealed yet. We don't know, if
Ms. Paradise was present at the time of his death and how
she handles this tragic event. For sure, she must be in Las
Vegas as she returned to her hometown the first days of October
in order to present her latest book "Two Worlds"
scheduled for coming Wednesday at the MGM Grand. Numerous
people have witnessed her presence in Las Vegas. Ms. Paradise
was writing at her book mostly abroad, while her late husband
was mostly running his unsuccessful real estate business in
Las Vegas. In 1989, Mr. Hiller announced the monstrous project
of the "Paradise Casino and Hotel". He was able
to raise money mostly based on his wife's fame and popularity.
As the costs were running out of control, Mr. Hiller's most
ambitious project was abandoned years later, leaving him debts
in millions of dollars. Apparently, he never recovered from
this downfall. In addition, his wife always longed for children
and a quiet life. These issues brought some tense into their
marriage. But Ms. Paradise returned to him just two weeks
ago, apparently to stay with him after her book is completed.
The more astonishing comes his sudden death at this time.
As soon as I'm able to dig out more details, I'll keep you
updated at this very spot!

PATRICIA PARADISE
DISAPPEARED WITHOUT A TRACE!!
LAS VEGAS/ZURICH --- Ms. Paradise
disappeared last night mysteriously from her home in Las Vegas.
Her vanishing took place three days after her husband died
and just one day before her book presentation at the MGM Grand
was scheduled.
Apparently, Ms. Paradise was under strong medication after
her husband Francis death last Saturday, October 19, provoked
a shock. A nurse checked around 10 PM, administering medication
for the night. As she aimed to check back again about three
hours later, Ms. Paradise wouldn't be located neither in her
bedroom nor in the whole mansion. The Las Vegas police was
immediately alarmed, searching the greater Las Vegas area
but hasn't found any trace so far! The search will continue,
not only within the states of Nevada, but as well the neighboring
like California and Utah.
As soon as I'm able to dig out more details, I'll keep you
updated at this very spot!

KATHERINE HILLER'S
REWARD OF $100'000.00 IS A SCHEME!!
ZURICH --- You may have heard
about the huge reward of $100'000.00 for relevant information
about the whereabouts of Patricia Paradise, put up by Ms.
Hiller. Ms. Paradise has disappeared without a trace last
week Tuesday, October 22, from her Las Vegas-home. Now, Ms.
Katherine Hiller plays the concerned and solicits public help,
with a put up reward of not less than $100'000.00. I've got
serious indications that this is most likely a scheme! One
should rather be careful in giving her any information. My
investigations conclude that Ms. Hiller is connected with
the Las Vegas mob. The assumption is justified, that Ms. Paradise
felt deadly threatened by Ms. Hiller and escaped in despair.
Ms. Paradise late husband left tremendous debts of millions
of dollars behind and, apparently, the menace Ms. Hiller forced
her to repay the whole amount before the Mafia would come
after herself. And, by the way: It is very doubtful that anybody
would see a dime by the heavily indebted Ms. Hiller.

DOUBTS ABOUT FRANCIS
HILLERS DEATH AND ITS CONSEQUENCES
ZURICH --- There is still
no sign about Patricia Paradise. But - I was investigating
Mr. Hillers death a bit closer and came to some flabbergasting
conclusions!
I've discovered so far, that there are many contradicting
opinions involved. According to an anonymous source close
to the house of Ms. Paradise, Mr. Hiller hasn't died at all!
He allegedly just faked his death in order to get out of his
tremendous debts of millions of dollars, caused by his failed
casino-project from years ago. According to the source, he
and his wife aimed to start a new life, far away from materialistic
and superficial Las Vegas, in order to raise children.
Well, looking at Ms. Paradise age, she has turned 41 at October
28, so there is indeed not much biological time left. And
examining Mr. Hillers recent past, he was involved in quite
many troubles. And that menace Ms. Katherine Hiller has become
quite a threat for both of them, is more than believable,
just looking at her involvement with the Vegas-mob. This theory
sounds very interesting, I know. But - where are they? The
search so far hasn't produced any new facts, just more and
more rumors. I've got so many indications by you, Patricia
Paradise-fans and by the general public, but there still is
not any trace.

NEW TRACE OF THE
NIGHT OF OCTOBER 22
ZURICH --- My team was searching
eye witnesses in Las Vegas about the night of October 22,
the night Ms. Paradise vanished. Eventually we found three
persons who independently reported that they saw Ms. Paradise,
only dressed in a white night gown, in the area of Freemont
Street. One witness clearly stated, that the former singer
got into a Vegas-taxi at a side street of Freemont Street
Experience, between 1 and 2 AM. These reports leads to the
conclusion that Ms. Paradise was leaving Las Vegas. And that
she was determined to do so. Perhaps being threatened by the
mob, and certainly by Ms. Hiller.
We are now in search of the taxi driver who apparently was
the last person who saw Ms. Paradise. He was described to
us as a Caucasian, between 40 and 50.
Please help us to find him, and don't give Ms. Hiller any
help as she surely still is after Ms. Paradise! But
still: Where is Ms. Paradise, and if alive, her husband Francis?

RUMORS BUT NO FIRM
SIGN OF THE WHEREABOUTS OF PATRICIA PARADISE
ZURICH --- The search for
Ms. Paradise is far from over. In fact, we found a trace,
namely that she took a taxi to get out of Las Vegas in the
night of October 22. But that's all so far. Nobody was able
to locate its driver, and its direction. My team was searching
intensively on location in Las Vegas, but couldn't get any
further. The ironic thing is that PARADISE-filmmaker, Mr.
Steinmann, is apparently including this event in detail (the
scene is being filmed this week at exact the same place at
Freemont Street, with Martin Kove impersonating the driver).
In the meantime, there are some pictures surfacing, allegedly
showing Ms. Paradise at all possible spots of this planet:
Rome, Thailand, London, Mexico, and so on. But I honestly
doubt that one single one really shows her. The pictures are
mostly of a bad and amateurish quality, out of focus and blurred.
Therefore there's still the question: Where is Patricia Paradise?
And her husband Francis? My
research regarding Mr. Hiller's death rather conclude that
he really died from a heart attack, and was cremated in Las
Vegas while Ms. Paradise was unconscious in the wake of this
tragedy.
I still welcome any hints leading to the whereabouts of Ms.
Paradise. So, by the way, does Ms. Katherine Hiller. But again:
Be careful as giving her any information as she is of a doubtful
integrity.

WHERE IS PATRICIA PARADISE
CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS?
ZURICH --- Ms. Paradise has
become a myth: Grown up as an orphan; a bumpy start as a singer;
a tumultuous career in Las Vegas; a questionable partnering
with Ms. Hiller; a discovery of being the alleged daughter of
Marilyn Monroe; a doubtful death of her beloved husband Francis;
and finally a traceless disappearance from Las Vegas on October
22 which raises a lot of questions. And
now, we may pray that Ms. Paradise is still alive! There's
no clear sign by her yet. Even her alleged closest friend
(!) Ms. Hiller raises doubts. Where only is she? Witnesses
have seen her leaving Las Vegas in a taxi. The screenwriter
of PARADISE, Mr. Steinmann, has it interpreted as that she
was attempted of being raped by the taxi driver in the middle
of the desert. Then, completely fictionalized,
she eventually finds her husband in Shangri-La (just to later
find out that he's a look-a-like).
Well, so far the film. And the reality?
Where is Ms. Paradise, and possibly her husband Francis, celebrating
Christmas? May God bless you!

CATCH OUR LILYAN CHAUVIN
KISSING LEONARDO DICAPRIO
ZURICH --- Returning from New
York-trip last weekend, I've got to let you know about my latest
"investigation". No, dear Patricia Paradise-fans,
I unfortunately wasn't able to dig her out nor did I hear anything
about her whereabouts within the Big Apple. No, this anecdote
entirely belongs to the actress of "The Nurse" in
PARADISE, Ms. Lilyan Chauvin. I
went to see the newest picture by three times Academy Award-winner
Steven Spielberg ("E.T."), the Leonardo DiCaprio-Tom
Hanks starrer "Catch Me If You Can". As a film buff,
I just had to see this picture, since it's by the current
Hollywood-King himself. And since this film isn't yet out
in Europe, I had to "examine" it in order to catch
to flies with one rock.
Lilyan Chauvin plays the Grandmom of Leonardo DiCaprio. Their
scene is delightful. Being from French origins, Ms. Chauvin
plays a French Grandmother, and without a break mumbles constantly
something in French. Eventually, she hugs and kisses the "Titanic"-kid,
and he reacts surprised, as he meets his Grandmom for the
first time. It's a one scene role, but it's a wonderful and
light moment, played by our two times Emmy nominated Ms. Chauvin,
in this rather overlong and at times dull movie. She saved
my day, and I can't wait to see her performance in PARADISE.

WHAT HAPPENED TO
PATRICIA PARADISE?
ZURICH --- Patricia Paradise
is still missing, for more than four month now. The tragic
event happened on October 22, when Ms. Paradise was reported
missing in her home town Las Vegas. As my research went on,
there's a possibility that she has met secretly with her beloved
husband Francis Hiller who might just has faked his death
in order to get out of his financial crisis in Las Vegas.
That would have met both desires of leaving their past lives
and start a new one in "Shangri-La".
Having consulted the author of PARADISE,
Roger Steinmann, he confirmed that within the story line of
his film, there is some of the above theory incorporated:
Act I tells the story following facts in Ms. Paradise' life.
Acts II and III though are completely fictionalized, telling
partly above theory. This happened, because Ms. Paradise disappeared
just a month before principal photography started, and the
film makers decided subsequently to alter the screenplay.
And the real Ms. Paradise? Nothing whatsoever has been able
to be found about her whereabouts. To be frank: We don't even
know if she is still alive.
Might be, that she's reading these lines as we speak, being
happy in her hiding place. If you read my earlier reports,
you will find some blurry photos which were appearing throughout
the world. They are questionable enough, though, if they show
the real Ms. Patricia.
If anybody knows any trace about
her whereabouts, please let us know. We haven't given up the
hope!

TIMOTHY "PRESIDENT
BUSH" BOTTOMS
ZURICH --- Living in Switzerland,
it wasn't possible to watch PARADISE-Timothy Bottoms impersonating
President George W. Bush in the sitcom "That's My Bush!".
But since last Sunday, that has changed as RTL II aired the
German dubbed show.
It was the first of several installments, continuing over
the next several Sundays. It's timing is undoubtfully due
to the doubtfully popularity of the actual US-president.
Well, it was a pleasure to see gifted Mr. Bottoms as the most
powerful man on earth. Mr. Bottoms incredible similarity with
the real Mr. Bush gives the show a solid base. Simply said,
he's the best aspect of the sitcom. For a grown up European,
this popular US-slapstick of throwing cakes and running around
in underwear is hard to digest, though. The White House with
its current boss has certainly shifted towards a madhouse,
though this is too much, for my taste.
Mr. Bottoms is an excellent actor, one just checks his thirty-odd
year long career. Were the film not top, he was, with almost
no exception. He always was giving his best. Having seen clips
of PARADISE, this only can be confirmed. In an interview,
I heard Mr. Bottoms stating that he hopes that PARADISE, where
he plays five character (no less!), will relaunch his artistic
career, after "That's My Bush!" did it commercially
(the show aired with phenomenal ratings).

SIX MONTH AFTER PATRICIA
PARADISE DISAPPEARANCE
ZURICH --- Exactly six month
have passed by since Ms. Paradise traceless vanishing..
In deep affection of this wonderful and
unique personality, on whom the film PARADISE is based, I
made further research and have to confirm that there are no
real new traces about her whereabouts. Despite a worldwide
search, by official authorities as well as PP-fanclubs, there
are just about NO signs of Ms. Paradise. There isn't even
a sign if she is dead or alive.
Ms. Paradise was last seen in the night
of October 22. Three eye witness stated independently, that
she, apparently in a hurry, took a taxi near Freemont Street
Experience in Las Vegas. Since then, any trace is lost. As
she was driven away by a male Caucasian, between 40 and 50,
we concentrated our search on him, but without any success.
Ms. Paradise appeared to not having carried anything but a
purse, so there is really the question where she might have
gone.
Having seen the rough cut of PARADISE,
I may already tell you that this last event before Ms. Paradise
infinite disappearance has been exactly restaged. After this
moment, at the end of Act I, the film is pure fiction, showing
how Ms. Paradise will eventually find her "Shangri-La".

„THE NINE LIVES
OF MICKEY ROONEY“ - REVIEW OF A BIOGRAPHY
ZURICH --- I’m having
a couple of biographies about our Hollywood legend Mickey
Rooney at my bedside table. We start with the first biography
I’ve red: „The Nine Lives Of Mickey Rooney“,
by Arthur Marx.
Mr. Rooney’s life reads like
a stunning Hollywood screenplay itself: his career, beginning
when he was 15 month (!) old, acting in silent movies, and
lasting at least until PARADISE, which means over 80 years
of unique entertaining experience; he’s one of the most
awarded actor of all times (two Academy Awards and four nominations,
two Golden Globes, one Emmy, one Tony…); his eight wives,
among them Ava Gardner and one who was murdered by a family
friend; his seven children from three marriages; his early
stardom making him at the age of 19 the worlds top box office
star, replacing „Gone With The Wind“-Clark Gable;
his filing for bankruptcy at the age of 43, after having had
earned 12 Mio. Dollars (which is in today’s equivalent
easy 20 times of it); and his astonishing comeback 1979 with
Broadway’s „Sugar Babies“ which fame lasts
until today.
The author of the 1986 biography is Arthur
Marx. The son of Groucho Marx (of the famous ‘Marx-Brothers’)
and one year younger than Rooney, they grew up together in
Hollywood. Mr. Marx produced a TV-show with Rooney in the
sixties, and eventually was so fascinated about this rollercoaster-life,
that he put it down as a serious attempt of covering this
complex life.
Mr. Marx aims to remain in a critical
distance. Sometimes he achieves it, but more often there is
an envious undertone surfacing. There’s this difference
of growing up together, in movie land but then one takes of
and becomes the big one himself, when the other is just the
son of a big one. The biography reveals Mr. Rooney’s
restless character. Being full of stunning energy, he on the
other hand easily gets bored. This character trait always
interfered with whomever he was having a close or intimate
relationship; bringing foremost his first seven marriages
to an end. He always was „on stage“, needing a
public like a drug. Alone, or with only another person, his
energy can’t be consumed therefore he gets uneasy and
unnerving. When his colleges admirably are several times quoted
that Mr. Rooney is of the „worlds best actors“,
this proofs that he must be ‘complicated’. Well,
what’s a bad actor like anyway? He is ordinary, as a
person. Now, Mr. Rooney accomplishes easily playing another
person. Playing or being it, that’s only a fine line
to cross. And there lays a ‘complicated’ character,
which Mr. Rooney certainly possesses.
Mickey Rooney was born into entertainment.
His father was a vaudeville star, somewhat a cabaret-dancer-clown.
Mr. Rooney’s mother worked behind the stage as well,
and, due to the lack of money, their Mickey was present there
all the time. With 15 month, this Mickey was already imitating
other actors, and became soon the bigger attraction than his
father. After the parents divorce, Mickey’s mother smelled
Hollywood-money for her five-year old son. And after a few
mishaps, she indeed landed him in pictures - a silent one,
as we read 1926. From then on until today, films and stage
were his home, which makes him, apart from his first 14 month,
a truly lifelong entertainer. And this is genuinely unique.
Out of his 300 roles, his very most notable
performances are out of my subjective point of view: „A
Midsummer Nights Dream“ (1935) where he played under
the direction of theatre-king Max Reinhardt; „Boys Town“
(1938), which brought an Academy Award to Spencer Tracy; the
„Andy Hardy“-series of 14 movies (1937 to 1947),
which catapulted him to the worlds number one box office attraction;
„National Velvet“ (1944), which made a star out
of Elizabeth Taylor. He was nominated twice for an Academy
Award: 1940 for: "Babes in Arms", and 1944 for:
"The Human Comedy". After then, his career fell
slowly apart. Without his juvenile looks, Mr. Rooney wasn’t
a leading man anymore. He played supporting parts, and this
not even in a lot of good films. His only notable outputs
in the 50’s and 60’s were: "The Bold and
the Brave" (1956), which earned him an Academy Award
nomination; the lovely classic „Breakfast At Tiffany's“
(1961), where he plays the complaining Chinese neighbor of
a Audrey Hepburn at her best; „It’s a Mad, Mad,
Mad World“ (1963), where he played along with every
comedian in the book. He as well did TV, for instance the
series „Mickey“ in 1964. Poor rating made it disappear
soon thereafter, though.
It wasn’t easy to find roles for the aging, 5 foot 3
inches (157 cm) short man. But Mr. Rooney’s incredible
energy and talent made him survive in the show business, and
the good parts slowly came back as he got older. 1979, he
scored high on Broadway with „Sugar Baby’s“
(Tony nomination). In 1980, he was in Francis Ford Coppola’s
„Black Stallion“ (1979), where he got his 4th
Academy Award nomination. Playing „Bill“ in a
1982 TV-show, earned him both an Emmy and a Peabody. And in
1983 he was bestowed the highest film honors of all, a ‘Special
Oscar for Lifelong Career Achievement’ (after the one
he got in 1938). At least since the late 70’s, Mr. Rooney
is a top celebrity again, appearing in such films as „Babe:
Pig in the City“ (1998), and of course PARADISE.
Author Arthur Marx’s biography tells
quite detailed about Mr. Rooney’s lack of a business
managing sense. To put it simply, he always tended to spend
more as his income was. As he was early on the most popular
actor, this meant that he had a lot of money to spend. Even
when he got an astonishing USD 2,500.00 a week (back in 1940),
his home studio MGM might have taken advantage of him in not
letting the most popular actor earning more. But during theses
days, an actor wasn’t getting a percentage of the gross
of a film, just a weekly salary. And then, before the age
of 21, Mr. Rooney only was entitled to around half of his
income for free spending. The rest went into a trust account.
Mr. Rooney’s income was divided with his mother, whom
he was living with, his agents and managers. To make it short:
He was earning a lot but was spending all of it, if not more.
By 1949, Mr. Rooney lost a lot of his youth appeal, and good
paid roles became scarce. Then, his financial misery started,
as he not only had not much to live with, but as well had
to pay alimony to his first two wives. Their settlement was
based on his previous top income. And he was already married
again with having fathered his third child. From then on,
divorcing and marrying catapulted him into the 1963’s
filing for bankruptcy. The scandal was, that he had, with
a total life earning of 12 Mio. Dollar (which equals about
240 Mio. of today’s value), debts of USD 450,000.00.
He claimed, that his ‘addiction’ to high heeled,
beautiful ladies cost him USD 5 Mio. alone. Well, there was
his other addiction: the horse racetrack. Earning sometimes
USD 100,000.00 a year, he often managed to loose USD 50,000.00
at one sole evening. 40 and 50 years ago, these sums are astronomical
for any average person, but not so for a Mickey Rooney, compared
with what he had earned as a teenager. Quite a wonder, that
he survived his gambling debts and not ended like PARADISE’
Francis Hiller, pushed to death by the Mafia.
Mickey Rooney’s eight marriages
are genuine Hollywood and the likes of Elizabeth Taylor: Hollywood-weddings
are like ordinary people’s changing of underwear. To
Mr. Rooney’s credit though, since 1978 he is married
with the same woman, Jan Chamberlin. But within the previous
36 years, he has tied, and untied, the knot not less than
seven times.
His most famous wife was bride number one: Ava Gardner. They
met when she was 19 and he 21. So Ms. Gardner wasn’t
the Screen Goddess yet, but certainly a unique beauty. The
biography by Arthur Marx states that all the seven first marriages
were having the same basic problem: Mr. Rooney couldn’t
be alone, that made him wed at the first place, but then as
he was, he got quickly bored, lost interest at a home life
and looked for outside ‘entertainment’. This brought
down whatever harmonic home there was initially. Certainly,
a working actor travels a lot, and meets a lot of beautiful
ladies in a close-up. But this doesn’t mean that there
isn’t any fidelity possible with actors and in Hollywood.
There are numbers of them who are married to one partner throughout
their lives. The crux in Mr. Rooney’s case lays in his
restless and moody character. For him, women are foremost
an object to satisfy his sexual needs. Other than this, he
prefers the company of men. And he’s got plenty of life-long
lasting friendships with men, including celebrities such as
directors Richard Quine and Blake Edwards.
